“Luke, I”m your father”… This is a memorable quote from one of the most memorable movies of all times and few people can argue against movies, just as the books, being one of the best sources when it comes to words of wisdom, deep life lessons and pearls of deep thinking. The entertainment industry is full of such quotes belonging to famous characters and some of them even managed to stand the test of time and become immortal in our collective culture. Some people turned them into life mottoes, catchy phrases they use as a personal trademark. But it is not only “serious” movies or TV shows that are constant fountains of memorable quotes, but also animation movies. And when it comes to these, you can”t stop but thinking about Disney art.
Disney and Pixar animations abound in illustrious lines from remarkable characters that made them popular over time. Some lines are funny, some are profound, while others are downright memorable. Let’s face it: there is still a child inside each of us even if we don’t want to admit it and the wonderful Disney art is something that has gained an important role in our hearts. Our article examines the lines of wisdom from our favorite characters which we still watch with admiration, like they were some sort of timeless philosophers.

1. ”Cause everything is honey, there “s a honey Pooh / He “s just made of honey so I guess I”ll eat him too”
… sings Winnie while enjoying a delicious honey bear in Winnie the Pooh (2011 ). Sometimes we all feel a little hungry, but Winnie the Pooh is a true gourmet, dreaming sweet rivers of honey in any time of the day (or night). His eternal plans to spend the day eating are turned upside down when Ariel the donkey loses its tail, and Winnie and his friends are sent in the forest by the owl in a new adventure, not so sweet as Winnie wished.
But this animated movie has, of course, other funny memorable lines and if you start to feel nostalgic about it, here”s another one:
Owl: Artistic talent runs through my family. In fact, it practically stampedes.
The movie managed to gather quite the awards, and ff you miss Winnie the Pooh and his adventure together with his friends, you can buy the movie from HERE.

2. “I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food”
… says fearless Bruce in Finding Nemo (2003). Bruce is the great white shark who wants to become a vegetarian, meaning to give up fish forever. He talks with an Australian accent and sometimes has small accidents, like swallowing a fish for instant. But he takes matters very seriously, attending weekly meetings that have the motto “Fish are friends, not food”.
Finding Nemo is a great animation movie. It was listed 164 among IMDB”s 250 best movies of all times, won 1 Oscar Award and was turned into a very fun to play video game where the player, of course, tries to save Nemo from peril.

3.”All you need is a little faith, trust and pixie dust”
… says Peter Pan tells to the three brothers in the Disney animated classic Peter Pan ( 1953 ). It seems that this is the secret combination that turns any dream into reality: faith, trust and magic. If trust in people can be obtained relatively easily, magic occurs only through faith. Peter Pan seems to have discovered the elixir of youth, as he is forever a child because his soul remained pure, he has faith and his heart is always open, so magic is always present in his life. Neverland is another incredible manifestation of Disney art, a fantastic realm which we all want to reach, and Peter gives us instructions. So far, it seems that only Wendy and her brothers were able to find the key to Neverland, because human virtues must be consistent for them to remain in that place.
For those who love the character of Peter Pan, we should remind the there is a “real” movie focusing the adult version of Peter Pan, skilfully portrayed by Robin Williams, in 1991″s Hook, but you already knew that, don”t you? The 1953 Peter Pan was highly appreciated in his times, while the younger generation probably remembers better the 2003 movie, with Jeremy Sumpter and Rachel Hurd – Wood as Peter and Wendy.
However, there”s nothing like Disney art, so if you want to own this classic animation, you can buy it from HERE.

4. “I create feelings in others that they themselves don’t understand”
… boasts Lightning McQueen in Cars ( 2006). Lightning McQueen is a young and ambitious race, full of adrenaline and self-confidence. That”s why he gave this response that makes us think involuntarily about friends or colleagues who like to boast. In fact, this what being young means: having confidence in yourself, feeling like the world is at your feet and that you can take anything, anytime. However, some modesty and humility never hurt, just as Lighting McQueen found later in the movie. There is a balance that every man had discovered at a certain moment in his life.
Boasting or not, Cars was nominated for 2 Oscar Awards, it led to the creation of a video game and the sequel, Cars 2 (2011) had also some success, being nominated for 1 Golden Globe.
If you want to feel the rush together with Lightning McQueen and hear other memorable quotes (such as I am speed or I”m a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics), you can buy this movie from HERE.

5. “The seaweed is always greener in somebody else”s lake”
This quote is of course adapted from Sebastien one of the characters in The Little Mermaid (1989). The line is part of a beautiful song dedicated by Sebastien to Ariel, hoping that she will give up the idea of becoming human. “You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake / Up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away / While we devotin” full time to floatin” /Under the sea / Just look at the world around you right here on the ocean floor / Such wonderful things surround, what more are you lookin” for?”. So much wisdom from such a little guy.
The old saying that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence may be well-know to everybody, and true, but this particular Little Mermaid won 2 Oscar Awards and is considered one of Disney”s best animation movies ever made, so other movies should learn a thing or two from Disney”s art. However, it was 1989 and since then, technology managed to develop spectacularly. Still, a good love story will always remain a good love story, and even after all these years, the tale of the mermaid can still soften our hearts.

6. “And when Andy plays with you it’s like, even though you’re not moving, you feel like you’re alive. Because that’s how he sees you”
… says Jessie in Toy Story 2 (1999) , revealing the miracle of life bestowed on inanimate objects. Then continues on a pessimistic note: “You never forget kids like Emily or Andy, but they forget you”. The tragedy of being abandoned and forgotten in a dark corner, after being spoiled and loved every day. The tragedy of abandoning childhood innocence to become adults. The tragedy of living in a consumer society where things wear out faster than food. The tragedy of living a full life only through the eyes of another, without taking your own decisions. All these tragedies are revealed in all their glory in the words of a very clever cowgirl doll, an incredible example of Disney art.
If you loved the Toy Story series, rumors say that there is a Toy Story 4 in development, but no Pixar involvement into the project. The first movie in the series was nominated for 3 Oscar Awards, while its predecessor to 1 Oscar Award.
For a full family entertainment night, you can have the Toy Story 1-3 set available for purchase HERE.

7. “Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission”
… says Victor, one of the famous ornamental creatures of the famous French cathedral in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996 ) when Quasimodo is calculating the risks. The exception to this rule is the law, which does not care about your regrets. The proverb is applied in extraordinary situations where you know you have to go beyond to forget everything you’ve learned and felt, not thought. Besides the limitations of the mortal human condition, each of us hits the limitations of social, material and spiritual. If we”re to be asking permission to take a new action, there will always be someone to say “No, that “s not good”.
Besides the moral background of the story itself, in The Hunchback of Notre Dame we can find a sample of pure Disney magic, as it was called by reviewers. It has also 1 Oscar Nomination, among a handful of awards and tells an immortal story about friendship and love.
It is the season of good, heart – warming stories, so you can buy the movie from HERE.

8. “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all”
… says the Chinese emperor to Captain Shang in Mulan ( 1998). Because he doesn’t understand, the king returns to explain: “You do not meet a girl like that every dynasty”, referring to the beautiful Mulan. Mulan has a special beauty, merged with pride, courage and strength. Managing to win the respect of Captain Shang, Mulan proves the words of the king: strength of character is born in hostile circumstances.
This animation movie impacted quite significantly the critics and the public, being nominated to 1 Oscar Award and having a video sequel released in 2004. Mulan“s story is great when you want to make an example of courage and character and the entertainment industry exploited her legend in TV series, independent movies and video games.
If you want to get inspired for your own acts of bravery, you can buy both animation movies from HERE.

9. “The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it”
… says Baboon Rafiki to Simba in the beautiful animation The Lion King (1994). Old and wise, Rafiki is a shaman in the jungle world and also advisor of Simba, who lives with remorse, blaming himself for his father”s death. When he decides to confront the past, Simba actually open his eyes for the first time and realizes betrayal and injustice endured all these years. No matter how traumatic past experiences are, only by accepting them you will heal the soul.
The Lion King is IMDB”s number 76 in its 250 best movies ever list and for good reason. It”s not even about the 2 Oscar Awards the movie left home with, but the story, the character development, the life lessons and the quests our main character has to achieve in order to become complete.
A Diney”s art classic, the Lion King is an incredible story for both kids and adults. If you want to enjoy a meaningful experience, you can buy the movie from HERE.

10. “Now, remember, Pinocchio: be a good boy. And always let your conscience be your guide”
… said the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio (1940 ). A true thing to say, but not understood by children or wooden puppets. How do you explain to a child what conscience is? So far there hasn’t been found a valid scientific explanation or even a definition for conscience. It is said that conscience is the voice of God in man, the divine breath. After careful observation of its manifestation, it was found that man feels or hears his conscience and only after he thinks if he should pay attention to it. In other words, thinking (reflection) occurs only after manifesting consciousness and not vice versa.
Pinocchio however, was lucky enough and got his happy ending. So did the movie, which won 2 Oscar Awards, while the famous character had its own share of spins, reboots and make-overs, including TV shows and mini-series and a darker animation / fantasy version announcing Christopher Walken as the voice of the Fox.
If you loved Pinocchio“s story and still feel there”s a lesson to learn from it, you can buy it from HERE.
