1. Prêt-à-Porter, 1994
Every year, Paris Fashion Week gathers all the celebrities of the fashion world. If you’re not there, practically you don’t exist. Designers, reporters, models, magazine editors, photographers… Paris Fashion Week is the place to be. Robert Altman describes the glamorous world of fashion using satire and irony, as we find out about different unconnected stories which revolve around this show. Maybe it is the reason why we are presented with a multitude of fashion celebrities and famous actors such as: Marcello Mastroianni, Sophia Loren, Tim Robbins, Anouk Aimée, Julia Roberts, Kim Basinger, Naomi Campbell, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Delacroix, Issey Miyake and Linda Evangelista.

2. Coco Avant Chanel 2009
Audrey Tautou plays the role of the most famous woman in the world of fashion: Coco Chanel. The film tells the story about Coco’s unhappy and difficult childhood, before becoming the great lady of Parisian fashion and setting the foundation of what we today consider style. Along with Audrey Tatou, we also see Benoît Poelvoorde and Alessandro Nivola. The film received a lot of nominations, among them the most important are: an Oscar nomination, four BAFTA nominations and two nominations for the European Film Academy.

3. The Devil Wears Prada, 2006
The film is based on a true story: writer Lauren Weisberger who at one time worked as an assistant for a Vogue editor in chief. The film reveals the ins and outs of the New York fashion world and the sacrifices that a young woman, interpreted by Anne Hathaway, has to make in order to maintain her job under her tyrannical boss played by Meryl Streep. Film outfits are absolutely amazing.

4. 27 Dresses, 2008
Maybe this film doesn’t necessarily deserve a place in this top, but I thought it would be a great inspiration if you’re ever invited to attend a wedding. The screenwriter of The Devil Wears Prada presents us the story of a woman and the 27 bridesmaid dresses she has worn over the years. Maybe it’s time to take it up a notch, but Mr. Wright is nowhere to be found. Obviously we are dealing with a romantic comedy, with Katherine Heigl and James Marsden playing the main characters.

5. Lagerfeld Confidential, 2007
The portrait of one of the greatest fashion designers the world has ever seen: Karl Lagerfeld. The iconic designer is followed around with a camera 24/7. Nicole Kidman and Princess Caroline of Monaco both appear in the movie. Whether he’s working or enjoying his private life, Karl Lagerfeld displays the same passion and elegance that he has accustomed us with.

6. Sex and the City
This one needs no introduction. Although it is not directly related to fashion, Sex and the City is a film that had to be part of this top, as it is in itself a parade of fashion style and gorgeous outfits. I do not think there is a woman who has missed a single episode of the famous Sex and the City series and I’m sure they all watched the movie. Four spectacular close friends and their adventures, fun, cocktails, fashion and a variety of outfits that would make any woman jealous.

7. Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, 2009
Another film about the famous fashion designer, but this time in another interpretation, that of Anna Mouglalis, and another perspective. If in Coco Avant Chanel, we are told the story about her life before becoming an internationally acclaimed designer, this movie introduces us to a more personal part of her life: her passionate relationship with famous composer Igor Stravinsky.

8. GIA, 1998
The film shows the rise and fall of late 1970s supermodel Gia Carangi. The fashion world which is shown to us is presented as a harsh one, full of temptations, in which the weak can become at any time victims and only the strongest are able to survive. Some say that Angelia Jolie is more beautiful and more seductive than ever playing the role of Gia.

9. Zoolander, 2001
There is no way we could have done without a comedy. And not just any comedy, but a Ben Stiller one. The famous actor tries to parody the fashion world and does a great job. The cast is made up of successful actors such as Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Milla Jovovich, David Duchovny, but also by fashion celebrities like Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Heidi Klum or Claudia Schiffer. A display of ridicule, funny lines and brainwashing at its best.

10. Desert Flower, 2009
We’re ending this top in a more serious tone. The film shows the true story of Waris Diria, a famous black model, who runs from Somalia at age 13 in order to escape an arranged marriage. She is spotted by a fashion photographer who helps her become famous. Main actress Liya Kebede is a supermodel who still flirts with the movie industry.
