On the other hand, we have some reports on a Chinese developer interested in bio-fuels, who modified a cell phone battery so it could work with Coca – Cola instead of Lithium – Ion compounds. Some even presented DIY electrochemical projects as building home – made batteries, with Coca – Cola running as fuel, so there is a lot to experiment with in this regard.
13. Removes chewing gum from your hair
Having gum stuck on clothes or even worse, in your hair, is a prank that few people will ever appreciate and lots of people will try to get rid of. 14. It works like a tanning lotion and skin softener
Now before going deeper into the matter, it is one thing to pour a bottle of Coke in the toilet to see if it cleans it up just as they say, and another to pour it on yourself hoping to get that long lasting uniform tan you are looking for. There is a bit of controversy surrounding Coke and its tanning effects, as some not only that found it to be inefficient in this regard, but a self – destructive idea, while others actually promote Coke as an efficient, inexpensive, durable solution to get the tan and a silky skin in the same time. Now in this department, we just need more experiments and proofs, not only personal testimonials.
15. Treats your dog’s tired and worn paws
This is one of those weird uses of Coca-Cola which needs a bit more of an explanation on the cause and effect side of the story. Heavily perpetuated on the Internet, it is said that if you soak your dog’s paws in Coke for 20 minutes, the drink will heal burns, worn – outs, bleeds and paw tears. Some people even claimed this trick worked on their pets, so we guess we just need confirmation to know how exactly to alleviate the suffering of our beloved canines in case their paws suffer too much.
16. Cleans the drain
Among many other household uses, Coca – Cola is said to efficiently clean and remove clots in your drains. Again, it is the baking soda in it, and even if we don’t have some MythBusters telling us right from wrong, it is plausible that Coca – Cola may have some effects on our drains, as long as we use it regularly.
17. Gets you curly hair
Every woman with straight hair dreams of having curly hair. Or almost every one. But those who tried all styling products and are still in the search for the next best thing to get some very well defined curls need to know that there are ladies out there who praise Coca – Cola as the ultimate hairstyle product. So they say you should let the Coke to flat, soak your hair in the drink, let it act on your hair and then cleanse your hair with shampoo and water, as you don’t want to have sugary sticky strands on your head. Maybe it works better with curly hair that just needs more definition and elongation?
18. Can be used as a pain killer
Now you know that in its history, Coca – Cola was designed as a cure for many conditions and Dr. Pemberton believed it can be quite efficient in alleviating numerous symptoms related to pain. To some degree, Coca – Cola still has some if its original medicinal properties, and there are wide – spread data that seems to agree that Coke can prevent an asthma attack, prevent kidney stones, solve some gastric problems and so on, but one of the most interesting bits of information that is everywhere around us is that among the many weird uses of Coca-Cola, alleviating pain caused by wasp stings, jellyfish stings and even mosquito bites looks like one that all children should be taught. While not many of us can actually get stung by a jellyfish, bee accidents happen often and we need to stay prepared.
19. Prevents slipping on floors
This ones comes from the movie industry. They say it’s a neat trick to mop the floor with Coke in order to get it sticky enough so the actors filming don’t slip and hold their grounds in various sets and scenes. Now since this piece of information is just traveling around and no movie producer actually put this trick in some “How to make better movies” manual, we will just suppose it is plausible to happen, if anybody would really mop the floors with Coke before shooting a dance scene or a fight scene. Here’s from the source of the rumor:
I’m a set dresser, when I can get the work. And in movies, if we’re going to shoot a dance scene or a fight scene in a place that has potentially slippery floors, we mop the floor with Coke and let it sticky up for a few minutes before they do the scene. Then we don’t have to worry about the actors slipping anymore!
So this one needs a bit of field research, we suppose.
