21. Nanny to Mommy
The Story:
Her name is Diana and she is the owner of Nanny to Mommy. Truth be told, I came to her blog for the coupons and discounts, but I stayed for the story. You’ve guessed right, she is a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls: Sweet Pea and Apple Seed. Contrary to other mothers from our list that seemed perfect, she is not your typical suburbia mother. I would prefer to refer to her as perfectly imperfect. She is struggling to loose Pre&Post weight, and she has had a lot of problems in the past. She may not be a super-model but she is beautiful, because her soul is beautiful.
I have to tell you, that I’ve read the story of how Diana and her Hubby met with tear in my eyes. After reading the story about her first girl, the pregnancy, her father’s condition and many other issues, I felt that I came to know her better. I really appreciate her kind, warm nature, and her oh-so-personal blog posts. It seems that her first child really saved her, because she was going through such a difficult year. She has taught me that kids are a blessing.

The Blog:
She honestly had me at hello! The give-aways are quite enticing, and the reviews unbiased. There is also a Frugal Living category where you can learn all about leaving a modest, yet fulfilling life. The recipes category has some pretty easy and tasty desert and food ideas, and from the Parenting section you can learn all there is to know about your kid.

22. Sweet T Makes Three
The Story:
Number 22 on our Cowntdown for mommy blogs (random order) is Jenn from Sweet Makes Three. If you’ve ever watched “Hart of Dixie” (that awesome TV series with the clumsy doctor who is trying to adapt to Southern Living), you will probably also know how life in Alabama is. It’s a place where people are super friendly say Hi ya’ll! Anyway, Jenn is the proud mother of two little angels with blonde, curly hair and blue eyes (they got their eyes and looks from their mom). Sweet T Makes Three is all about southern hospitality and homemaking. The blog has been mentioned on various authoritative sites like Huffington Post Food, Jen and Barb Mom Life and the Stumble Upon Blog. (so yea, it’s pretty awesome).
Welcome from Jenn, Sweet T and baby Gus. We’re glad you’re here! Pull up a chair and stay a while.
The Blog:
Obviously, there are many things you can learn from Sweet T Makes Three, but the most important thing that you should look out for are the new recipes and restaurants, from the Southern Living topic. You could also check the Style category, but it doesn’t have too many posts (the ones that are already there are pretty cool). The Parenting category is particularly useful because it shows us valuable tricks for peace at home. All in all, I really appreciate Sweet T Makes Three because it is filled with beautiful family photos, the reviews are accurate, the articles short and to the point, and the design very attractive and navigable.
“Sweet T Makes Three is open to product review and giveaway pitches as well as ambassadorships, twitter parties, and partnered posts.”

23. Ramblings of a Wahm
The Story:
Some mommies are lucky enough to have working husbands who support them. Others are hot-shot business women who somehow manage to balance personal life, work life and still look amazing. I bet you haven’t heard about work at home moms too often in the past. Ramblings of a Wahm is an excellent resource for mompreneurs and stay-at-home women who still wish to gain an income. The blog is owned by Allie, an ambitious and talented mother with big dreams. Although she wished to accomplish herself early in her life, God had other plans for her: a baby. Her first son was born in 1998, and he daughter in 2000. (she is married to the love of her live – an IT geek and wonderful dad). Allie worked really heard for her career, but it took her a long time to find something that she could do with passion. She decided on blogging.
The Blog:
Ramblings of a Work At Home Mom Blog is where moms that work from home find information and inspiration to balance life as a mompreneur.
Many people find it difficult to keep on to a job. They can’t even imagine adding a few children to the mix. Furthermore, many mothers are completely overwhelmed by the major changes that occur once a baby comes to the world. Nobody is born an expert, and Ally is here to help mompreneurs adapt to the life of a parent. Home businesses are important not only as a source of income, but also because they can help you grow as a person. Mommy bloggers, in particular, will appreciate Ramblings of a Wham, because it tackles blogging, social media and SEO subjects, which are essential to the development of a site (and attraction of organic traffic). Finding a balance between family life and work can seem impossible, but Ally demonstrates us that it isn’t. Check out her blog and learn more about being a work-from-home mom.

24. CATHARSIS
The Story:
From the About Me page you will learn that Joy Page Manuel is a sociologist by training, and a blogging mom, but there is more to her than meets the eye. While I truly appreciate her academic training, her heart is the one that moved me the most. Not only did she have to reconstruct her life in a foreign place in her 30s, but she has also went through some serious struggles. She writes with such conviction and passion that it is impossible not to lover her (posts). Her blog is a digital journal, where she has exposed all of her feelings, worries and problems. She writes without censure, and she is not afraid to share her opinions with the world. I am not a mother, but her post Please Hear Me with Love made my heart melt. Most of her posts are similar to the one mentioned: to me, they are roads to self-discovery, and spiritual healing, that always have a moral at the end.
I’m a FORMER academic, CURRENTLY a blogging mom, ASPIRING writer, astrophysicist, gazillionaire philanthropist and goddess, and undoubtedly a PERPETUAL dreamer, hopeless romantic, and overanalyzer. Welcome to my world Catharsis!
The Blog:
Although the blog is not divided into relevant categories, this doesn’t matter. Joy writes exactly what she feels like writing, so categories would probably have no point. You can learn many things from her experiences, because she always draws conclusions from her life, or you can simply dive into her universe, and let yourself be overwhelmed by her feelings. Another thing I really enjoyed about her blog (which is partly the reason why I kept on reading) is her incredible and articulate writing style. Just check out her blog, who knows, you might stay a while.

25. Shop With me Mama
The Story:
Next on our list we have a nice little blog, owned by KIM, a 38-year-old beauty. She is a happily married mother of three: Zaden , Presley and Kellan. Kim is a stay-at-home mom who enjoys every second of her life with her children. Thanks to her hard-working husband, Dax, she can carry on with her family life comfortably. Their love story is similar to some of the previous blogs in our list: they got together in the 8th grade and never separated since. For all the Twillight lovers out there, we have some exciting news: this family lives very close to the town where the movies were filmed, so if you ever get into the vampirish mood, you can try and pay them a visit. I’m just joking. My humor is obviously not as good as Kim’s.
The Blog:
The blog has several categories, but the one which I appreciate most is the one with the reviews. Kim offers unbiased opinions on the products that she tries, so you can be sure that you won’t be reading some boring article paid by a company.
I absolutely LOVE the internet and all of the glorious things that it has to offer. I love searching it, finding great deals on things that I so badly need or have been wanting to try. I also love reviewing products and telling the world about them, whether I loved them or not (that is right, I don’t LOVE everything I receive…).
Apart from the Reviews category, we also have give-aways (yupeee), Gift guides, Recipes and Pregnancy & Loss. Are you looking for reasons to check out her blog? 1. It looks great, 2. It’s full of awesome advice about family life, babies, and bonding, 3. the recipes look divine (which means that they taste divine), and 4. the reviews are very accurate and the giveaways exciting.

26. Motherhood Uncensored
The Story:
Kristen Chase describes herself as a mother, writer and dragon slayer (truth be told this does appeal to children and their fantasy land constructs) who fell in love with having children so she put aside her hobbies up to that point (teaching college students and being a music therapist) so as to be the best mother her children could have. But she does show us that adult life can indeed go on after having kids. Living in Atlanta, she keeps writing for her own sanity and as a means of supporting herself and the children.
The Blog:
Kristen has created a blog that is absolutely down to earth and easily accessed by everyone and discusses issues that parents will surely appreciate. From getting your kids to eat their veggies (and we all know how difficult that is) with quite peculiar solutions (I mean, it’s true that we occasionally tell white lies such as Santa and his whole routine but many parents feel a great amount of remorse when they are forced to lie to their children in order make them actually do something). What Kristen did was to simply imply that a Jedi’s food consisted of greens and surprise, surprise, the bowl in front of her 3-year-old was gone in seconds.
She speaks truthfully about things that few mothers would admit to (like just wanting to sleep alone without their sweet child on their arms-a child that doesn’t seem so sweet in those particular times) while still being the mom we’d all like to have or be. Beside her blog, she is the Chief Executive Officer of Cool Mom Tech and Cool Mom Picks and has written the “Mominatrix’s Guide to Sex”.

27. Rage Against The Minivan
The Story:
Mother of four, two of her own and two adopted children, this amazingly caring mom began with her blog as a means for coping with all the changes that were happening in her life back in 2006. She takes pride in the fact that her blog is not at all like other mommy blogs out there, she doesn’t really care for scrapbooking, ideas for kids outfits or costumes, arts and crafts or photography, she would rather talk openly about whatever idea comes to her head (be it jeans, her laptop, her curious crush on Jon Stewart) and she indulges in sweet ranting from time to time on all topics you could come up with (kids, adoption, religion, parenting and other subjects that have surely been on the minds of every parent on the planet).
As a Family and Marriage Therapist, her freelance writing excels in topics related to small communities and what better such community than family? She contributes often to sites such as Babble, the Huffington Post or OC Family Magazine, but has also founded sites like Mama Manifesto or written for ConversantLife. The whole minivan story ended with the battle being lost and the minivan being left in the driveway.
The Blog:
The content Kristen writes is absolutely delicious, with well-chosen topics, especially where adoption is concerned (she has 2 adopted children and when Kembe came home, she had to deal with a lot of issues, forms that had to be filled out, call waiting, being passed over to the next office instead of simply spending the time with her boy) as her experience is extensive in this respect. She is also genuinely funny: posts that will make you laugh so hard you won’t be able to stop (check her Class-O-Meter post and you’ll know exactly what she is about).

28. Sassafrass
The Blog:
With such a blog title it’s clear that readers are entering the realm where everything is possible, and Jessica makes sure that they all feel safe to share whatever they wish regarding matters such as solo parenting, divorce, and even dating. Jessica describes herself as seasoned and savvy woman that knows the ropes and can get things done. Her blog keeps users coming back because living as a single parent in Chicago (and having what she calls a relationship with her “Not Boyfriend) makes for some storytelling.
The Blog:
It’s true that there may be some lifestyle posts that wander about in her blog, but topics are generally home and family related, with absolute honest discussions and advice on divorcing and how you can get through it with your sanity intact, worries that parents seem to never shake off (single parents for instance are absolutely terrified of the thought that they may have serious accidents or other such stuff happen to them and that they would be leaving the child they love so much alone). She also talks about infidelity, the difficulties she faced after divorce (with letting go, giving her wedding rings up, dating, etc.) and does so in such a simple, truthful manner that one can’t help himself but feel for her. She’s easy to connect with and will always keep you coming back.

29. Femamom
The Story:
This blog was designed to showcase another side of parenting, where edgy moms could simply be. Her motto is addressing every family issue without shame or fear of criticism because, in her opinion, children alone do not define their mothers. So edgy parenting was the fundamental goal and the dream of this blog, which soon came to incorporate content about sex, death, divorce, single parenting, sleeping habits when having children, anger, resentment, joy, and pretty much every aspect of the motherhood/parenthood spectrum. The platform was also intended to present the experience and opinions of those who were still childless and even those of men. The two editors of Femamom, Hailey and Miriam both got masters degrees at Lesley University and became close due to similarities in their lives (tricky husbands, ex-husbands, children) so that the idea of Femamom came naturally to them.
The Blog:
What may strike you at first glance is the “Rape Culture” topic that stands right next to marriage. But as the blog has vowed to address all issues and all topics with absolutely no shame, it is clear that a social problem such as rape (especially with mothers of girls) should be discussed openly so as to find ways of educating and protecting your families from such horrific events. Topics like consent and non-consent are discussed thoroughly and correctly taking into consideration many aspects of what some people would and what others wouldn’t consider rape.
Another excellent topic is right next to this one, “Sex”, where the intelligent editors of Femamom address issues having to do with chauvinism and the way women are portrayed in our society and through the media (for instance, the article on “Blurred Lines”, the hit of the summer that can easily be described as one of the most sexist songs out there in terms of lyrics). This is a blog that any mother, woman or man should read, if not for the intelligent and informative content, then for the excellent topics that are being discussed.

30. First Time Mom & Dad
The Story:
While humor is essential with these sort of websites and blogs, the owners of First Time Mom & Dad nailed it completely (particularly the add on about their “very amused” son). This mixed couple (one part American, one part Aussie) sure has a way with words when telling the story of how they actually came to be (with Homeland Security jitters and all that good stuff). April and FTD met in Europe due to some overcrowding issues caused by the 2008 Europe Football cup and they truly have had the luck of falling it love at the first sight (what can be more beautiful than having such love culminate with a beautifully amused child?).
The problem was when FTD was refused his Visa for the next 5 years so they had to move their wedding plans up. Agony followed, congressman letters, paperwork, but it didn’t take a year and they managed to get back together. Their marriage soon followed, and two years after that, their beautiful son Oliver.

The Blog:
April and FTD seem to do everything with humor: for instance, her “Still Pregnant?” section features some of her most intimate stories from during her pregnancy (which, as she says, did not come with any types of unicorns, rainbows and butterflies as some would want you to believe). The couple has different challenge sections to get their readers (and themselves) moving more, staying active and healthy, as well as countless articles on parenting, tips for new moms, crafts, costumes, and pretty much everything that a happy family has to deal with day in and day out.
