3. Samsung Series 9
Overview
Samsung may be more popular thanks to its powerful smartphones but it has created a series of extremely powerful laptops suitable for gaming, multimedia and business. Among them is the Samsung Series 9, a powerful multimedia rig under the form of a 13-inch laptop which reminds us of the Asus Zenbook and Acer’s Aspire 7. The device is amazingly thin and light, and its performance is unrivaled by various laptops of its price. This does not mean that it is cheap. As you’d expect of a premium machine, it has the most powerful specs: an 1600×900 resolution for the screen, and a Core i5-2537M processor.
It performs perfectly for multi-tasking and multimedia and video editing. Despite some issues, we believe the NP900X4D is a good buy, if not a truly excellent one. You won’t walk out of the shop feeling like you’ve been ripped off, but you certainly won’t feel like you’ve got the steal of the century, either.

4. ASUS N750JV-T4110H
Overview
The ASUS N750JV is one of the most inspired choices as a Multimedia rig (it is actually considered the best multimedia laptop by many specialists) . It has a powerful GeForce GT 750M graphic card, a number of great tweeks, and a powerful Intel Core i7-4700HQ processor. With these tools it can easily support multi-tasking and other 3D demands. The chassis of the N750JV is well-chosen. Not only are both the upper lid and the upper part of the base unit made from (anthracite-colored and silvery) aluminum, the rest of the case has a premium look and feel to it too, despite of the fact that it is made from plastic.
Considering that it is 3.3kg heavy as a 17 inch laptop, we can say that it is quite easy to carry around. Other special features include the Asus Console which offers settings and information about the system. One thing is certain: The Asus N750JV was never intended to be a cheap multimedia laptop. Still, its price point of around $1300 feels adequate. If i would ever purchase a multimedia laptop for personal use, this would definitely be the choice.

5. Valkyrie Cz-15 IBuyPower
Overview
Flying Valkyrie. The 17-inch original has expanded to the 15-inch category with this latest Valkyrie model just in time for the launch of both Haswell and the refreshed Kepler series. The internals are still a powerhouse to be reckoned with, but have any features been removed in the transition? We take a deeper look in this MSI-based DTR. (Source: NoteBookCheck)
Number 5 on our list of best multimedia laptops is the Valkyrie rig. People who have had the chance to use the Valkyrie laptop must have enjoyed it to the maximum. With its latest addition, IBuyPower is aiming for a home-run in the multimedia laptops department. The Valkyrie 15.6 inch laptop is one of the best models on the market right now. In many ways you can also consider it a gaming laptop because it is simply that powerful.
Nevertheless, it offers incredible performance for an attractive price, due to the exclusion of a costly SSD. Furthermore, although it does not offer anything spectacular, aside from its powerful core performance, it is excellent for various tasks. It will do its job without hesitation, and thanks to its durable housing it will last a long time.

6. Samsung ATIV Book 8 Touch
Overview
What happened to the Samsung series that we were used to was the fact that it morphed to the Ativ Book 8 series. In the appearance department not much has changed: the casing is basically the same, and the style is similar, but there are certain things that you should look out for. First of all, a great improvement was made to the screen resolution, which is now full-HD: 1920×1080 pixels, a more suitable spec for a 15.6 inch laptop. Also, the processor is now an Intel Core i7 3635QM clocked at 2.4 GHz speed (3.4Ghz with Turbo). The Ativ Book 8 is a still a workhorse laptop and could make a good desktop replacement. It scores a mighty 4458 points in PCMark 7.
Verdict:
The Samsung Ativ Book 8 is a powerhouse Windows 8 laptop. We like the smart design and usability, but you’re paying a lot of money for a 2012-spec laptop, when 2013 processors have changed the game. While processing performance is good, it’s seriously missing out on the battery life we’re seeing from newer Haswell chips. (Source: PCAdvisor)

7. Schenker S413
Overview
If you thought that NVidia is the only real stellar graphic card manufacturer on the market, you were wrong. According to several specialists, Intel has released the Iris Pro Graphics 5200 graphic card in several Haswell processors, and it seems that it can actually compete with the third generation GT 650M graphic card. Clevo is one of the first manufacturers to introduce the bare-bone design for the Iris Pro, and the Schenker is one of the best examples. Like many professional laptops, it is completely customizable which means that prices begin from 1300 dollars and can reach 1900 dollars. Unlike other powerhouses on the market, it has a beautiful design, a thin silhouette, and a matte texture for more durability.
A brute in a suit. A slim 14-inch laptop with an allegedly weak integrated graphics processor that could be a rival to the cluster of multimedia competitors, is that really possible? Schenker’s S413 proves: Intel’s latest Iris Pro Graphics 5200 boosts the power of integrated graphics solutions to a whole new level. (Source: NoteBookCheck)
The Good: powerful alternative to the Nvidia graphics, good processor, stellar performance

8. Toshiba Satellite P50T
Overview
Prices for the P50T range from 799.99 pounds to 999.99 pounds, depending on the specifications. For example, the quad-core Haswell i7 running at 2.4 GHz, with 8GB memory and 1TB hard-drive but no Blu-ray drive and Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics is less expensive than the one with 12 GB memory, blu-ray drive and NVidia Geforce GT 740M graphic card. With so much memory you will not have to worry about storing files, and the processor is powerful enough to support multi-tasking and gaming. This makes it an inspired choice for the best multimedia laptop list.
PC Advisor’s Verdict:
It’s a shame that the P50T is let down by its ageing hard drive, as this hinders performance of its otherwise powerful Haswell processor and nVidia graphics card. However, it’s still an attractive multimedia laptop that will earn its keep for watching video or playing music at home, as well as providing enough power, memory and storage to handle video-editing and other multimedia applications.

10. Lenovo Y510P
Overview
The last on our list of best multimedia laptops is the Lenogo IdeaPad 480. Lenovo is very popular for its affordable design, and the Lenovo Y510P is a perfect example in this situation. We have already discussed about the IdeaPad 480, but let’ take a look at the Y510P model. This particular model includes a slick and elegant design, a powerful processor and an interesting chassis design. With the fully upgraded model costing $1,600 the Y510P can no longer call itself a budget gaming device.
Is the increased performance worth the price raise? We would say that the answer is yes, because the HD display can be viewed from several angles, the processor ensures excellent performance while multi-tasking, gaming and video editing, and there is more than enough memory for storing data. It will be really hard for people to find a better multimedia and gaming rig within the budget range.
